The event brought together partners, supporters, and collaborators to celebrate Global Citizen’s arrival in Japan and explore opportunities for collective action to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges, including global health and poverty reduction.
The program opened with remarks from Global Citizen Co-Founder Mr. Simon Moss, who shared the vision behind the movement and highlighted why Japan plays a critical role in advancing global progress.
The event also featured a panel discussion with speakers including Mr. Hiroyuki Arai of Action Network, Ms. Mihoko Kashiwakura from the Gates Foundation and Mr. Hirotatsu Tanji of TPC Group. The discussion highlighted Japan’s long-standing leadership in global health and international development, and the opportunity to amplify these contributions through citizen engagement.
The event also previewed several upcoming initiatives in Japan, including a Policy Dialogue in Tokyo, Global Citizen Live Tokyo, and the first Global Citizen Festival Tokyo planned for 2027.
